Considering Tubal Ligation Reversal:

When considering tubal ligation reversal you will first want to consult a doctor who will therefore recommend you to a fertility specialist. The fertility specialist, as I stated above, will give you an assessment after he or she has examined your fallopian tubes to see how good of a candidate you are considering the surgery you underwent before. They will examine your fallopian tubes with a laparoscope to see just how the tubal ligation was preformed. Once they have done this they will therefore go through some other factors when considering who is a good candidate for tubal ligation reversal surgery. These factors will include the following:

   1. Whether the fallopian tubes where blocked or snipped in the original tubal ligation surgery
   2. How much of your fallopian tube remains intact for reattachment purposes
   3. The overall health of your fallopian tubes
   4. Your age
   5. Your general overall health

All of these factors will make it much easier for the fertility doctor to assess if you are a good candidate or not.  No matter if you had your fallopian tubes snipped, clipped, clamped or if your surgeon used rings or rubber bands the surgeon can go in and reverse it depending on the factors stated above. Depending on how your fallopian tubes look, how much of the fallopian tube is intact and the health of your fallopian tubes is very important. A surgeon is not going to go in and preform the surgery if your fallopian tubes are not looking that good.  Another important factor is your age. Generally you will find that if you are anywhere between your thirties to around forty you will find that the success rate is roughly anywhere between twenty to eighty percent. If you are generally healthy and fit you will find that your success rates may increase. It is always extremely important to be taking care of yourself and your health when considering any surgery, but especially this one.
